The WMX racing was the most exciting of the weekend largely thanks to Charli Cannon who was close to winning both motos on the last lap! An aggressive pass by Lala Turner on the last lap of moto one sealed the win and Cannon despite stalling while leading race two was still right on Turner’s back wheel on the last lap of race two but couldn’t find a way by the American defending champ.
But Cannon showed she had the speed to really challenge for this title so we caught up with her to discuss her impressive performance.
“I feel like I didn’t execute the best this weekend and I let those winning motors slip but you know I for the first race of the year I’m happy to come away you know all healthy and safe and know what I need to do better for next time but didn’t wasn’t happy with my riding on Friday but today turned around I really enjoyed the track and I fought hard and you know me and Lala we set a pretty good pace and it was close I tried to get around a few times but yeah she just made it a bit difficult to pass but good racing and we just keep on working for all the other rounds.”
