Injury update: Kay Karssemakers

It hasn’t been an ideal winter preparation for young Dutch talent, Kay Karssemakers after he signed a deal with factory Fantic for the 2024 MX2 World Championship season.

In December, Karssemakers broke his collarbone but despite that he had been back on the bike preparing for the MX2 World Championship opener in Argentina this weekend.

Unfortunately, a few weeks ago, he had another crash and the injury is a fractured sternum.

The Dutch talent has been ruled out for the opening round of the MX2 World Championship season which is a blow but hopes to back as soon as he can without missing too much racing.

Fantic will still head to Argentina with David Braceras who himself has had an injury over the winter but is on course to race in Argentina this weekend.

Karssemakers posted the following update:

Unfortunately, I’ll miss the start of the GP MX2 season in Argentina next weekend. After my broken collarbone in December I resumed training, but two weeks ago I had a another crash and suffered a fracture in my sternum. Another setback, but I will do everything I can to get back as soon as possible.
