Hunter Lawrence update – further evaluation

Honda’s press release didn’t give a huge Hunter Lawrence update, saying: “The evening took a difficult turn when Hunter suffered a heavy crash in his heat race, forcing him to miss the main event. He will undergo further evaluation to determine the extent of his injuries.”

Hunter himself commented: “What started out as a great night in Tampa turned into a very short night! At the end of lap 1 in my heat race, I landed on some tough blocks and banged myself up really nicely; now I’m just focusing on getting back to 100%.”

Team manager Lars Lindstrom said: “This racing thing sure does have its ups and downs! Sometimes you need a little luck on your side, and lately we haven’t had a whole lot of it. I was really bummed for Hunter, because I think today we found another step with the bike that made him more comfortable. He proved it by qualifying really well, and his speed and confidence seemed to go to another level.

Lawrence says in the latest vlog that he banged his head: “Give my head a bit of a hit and banger up the body a bit.”
