Horgmo and Guillod on 2024 – SR Honda

As Team Ship To Cycle Honda Motoblouz SR will focus on the MXGP class next season, Valentin Guillod will have a new team mate in 2024. It’s the young Norwegian Kevin Horgmo, moving from the MX2 to the MXGP class, who will line up alongside Valentin.

Turning 23 years old a few days ago, Kevin has to move to the MXGP class next season following the FIM rules. European vice champion in 2021, fourth of the MX2 World Championship and seventh this year, Kevin ended the 2023 season on a high with a race win in Turkey. Selected by the Norwegian federation to compete in the next Motocross of Nations, Kevin will then move to Southern France to join Yves Demaria and Valentin Guillod. Confirmed as leader of the team next season, Valentin will also race the MX of Nations on October 7-8 with the Swiss team.

Kevin Horgmo: “I’m really happy to move to MXGP and to join team Ship To Cycle Honda Motoblouz SR. I think that my results this year show what I’m able to do, especially in the second part of the season. I made really good progress and I’m convinced that living in France and training with Yves Demaria and Valentin Guillod will be really good and will help me to make my step to the 450 good. Valentin has a lot of experience, he will be the leader and I will try to be as good as him. I’m really looking forward to this new challenge, moving to a new team, in a new class, working with a new trainer, riding a Honda. I want to thanks team F&H, everyone gives 100% even in the bad moments, I learned a lot with Marc De Reuver. I really improve my riding with them, they helped me to make a big step as a rider but also as a man.”

Valentin Guillod: “Happy to continue with team Ship To Cycle Honda Motoblouz SR next year, after this great 2023 season where we got the French title and score a ninth position in the MXGP championship with several top 10 results. It was my goal to continue with this nice story, and we’ll try to do even better next season. I really enjoy working with this team, the atmosphere is like a family and everyone gives all, from Josse to Yves including all our mechanics.”

Josse Sallefranque: “Great to continue with Valentin Guillod, the goal will to do at least equal or even better even if we all know how the MXGP class is competitive. Happy to welcome Kevin Horgmo in the team, he did a strong season in the MX2 class and I’m convinced that he can post top 10 results in the MXGP. He’s a great rider, I’m sure that he will feel comfortable on the 450 Honda. As our partners asked us to focus on the MXGP category we will not continue working with Emil Weckman who is also a top rider; we had really good connection with him, and we wish him all the best for the future.”
