Herlings on his bad starts and back injury

Jeffrey Herlings had more bad starts in Switzerland and said in the press conference he hadn’t had the chance to test the new update on the KTM because of his back injury, that has meant he hasn’t been able to practice for the last couple of weeks.

Interestingly, Herlings also explained why he chose the inside gate yet again: “I was just hoping I would have some less good riders next to me and I could out drag them! My starts haven’t been that great, we have good updates for the bike but unfortunately I hurt my back just a week after Sweden, we had a complete test plan and we rode it once but we needed more time to set up the suspension, all those things, but I haven’t ridden except for Balen to race, Arnhem and I didn’t ride this week because of my back. It’s my own fault I am not racing it. that (updated) bike was definitely much better”.

“(Consequently) we can’t send that bike to Turkey and China, but anyway I think my (current) bike will be a bit better there because of high altitude, I should be a little bit better. But, for next year, we have some quite good things coming and with the new regulations of 109 decibels we are already working on that. For next year it should be better.”
