Haiden Deegan speaks out over not racing the MXoN

Credit to Gypsy Tales who recently sat down with the incredibly talented, Haiden Deegan and asked him the question everyone has been dying to ask  – why he didn’t come and race for team USA at the Ernee MXoN.

When asked, this was Deegan’s reply: Captain America (laughs), I actually have to hit this one on the spot. Well, one: team wise I cannot go there, because it is a team decision. And another thing, besides the team not letting me go, I’ve raced eleven months straight. I need to recover, get my body back to 100% and get the itch back. There would also be a fact that I would be on a Yamaha stock 250cc because my team isn’t going to send a bike over.

If they called us back by Friday (the deadline) and agreed to the terms, we’d all be there in France trying to win that thing but they didn’t call us back and try to help us get the program together so it couldn’t go through.

I do want to go over there though and race a GP though. It would be so fun but not a sand one because I need to work on the sand but a normal one, that would be fun to do. I wonder how I would stack up against though guys, I don’t know but it would be cool.

Let’s hope the issues can be resolved for the Matterley Basin MXoN in 2024 but it’s hard to imagine Deegan race an MX2 Grand Prix if he can’t he even race Ernee MXoN but it would be super cool…
