Graeme Irwin to contest selected Motocross events in 2021

It was announced in 2019 that Graeme Irwin had made a tough decision to retire from Motocross due to a wrist injury. The Carrickfergus man then made the switch to short circuit racing and we even seen him take on British Superbikes where he raced with his two Brothers.

However, Irwin has been back riding a Motocross bike for quite a while and doing what he loves the most which is great to see. After riding with a stock bike for quite some time, this week he got his race bike – Chris Scarlett who’s a long term sponsor for Irwin is supplying the bikes with Ryan Thorpe also involved. Traction Finance (Paul McGuire) is also involved in putting this together.

We got in touch with Irwin and he revealed that he is hoping to contest selected Motocross events later in the year – we might see him race an MX National event and if the riding goes well and he feels good, we might even see him at MXGP level once again.

Could we see him make a full-time return to racing in 2022?
