Ferrandis out and Webb in at Star Yamaha? Tomac coming back?

*update* Cooper Webb has long been rumoured to be going to Star Yamaha and it could happen sooner rather than later after Webb has sensationally left KTM USA mid-season, it could be the unification of two title rivals (Webb and Tomac) from 2023 and a powerhouse team to take on Lawrence at Honda and Sexton at KTM (believed to be his destination in 2024). But it leaves Ferrandis out in the cold.

“Right now it looks like I retire, I don’t have anything, I’m serious, there is not much going on.” Those are the astonishing words from Dylan Ferrandis while speaking to Steve Matthes on the Pulp MX Show with the Frenchman, after some injury riddled years, still searching for a ride in 2024.

Ferrandis had been vaguely rumoured to have a chance of joining Ken Roczen at Suzuki but when we asked Dustin Pipes about the chance of another big name rider joining next year he didn’t give anything away.

With no room for Ferrandis at Star does that mean Eli Tomac is coming back? There is a rumour doing the rounds that Eli might sign a two year deal and a return to the sport we all thought he would be walking away from after that torn Achilles.

Michael Lindsay said on this week’s Vital MX race review: “The talk is not only is he coming back, there is definitely murmurings of a two year deal.”
