The Chambers Husqvarna Racing team have a past racing the World Championship but in recent years have decided to focus on the British Championship events instead.
The last time the team contested a full World Championship season was 2004 when the team ran KTM machinery. Chambers Racing have worked with riders such as Mark Hucklebridge, Christian Burnham, Wayne Smith and Shaun Simpson during their time as a GP team. They have contested selected EMX and MXGP events in recent years but we believe things are going to change for the team in 2025.
We understand the team will be back racing the World Championships once again 21 years later and are in the process of searching for riders. We believe their intentions at the moment is to run one MX2 GP rider as well as one MXGP rider, contesting all the European GP’s. It’s not a real surprise that they don’t intend on contesting the fly away rounds due to the high costs involved.
At the moment, there are two British based GP teams – DRT Kawasaki and SS24 so it is good news to hear another British team could well be stepping up to contest MXGP World Championship events in 2025.
It could well be an opportunity for a couple of British riders to secure GP rides but that remains to be seen. The team may well look to talent in Europe but that is something the team are currently figuring out. The riders aren’t thought to be signed yet and at the moment talks are only being held.
As always we will continue to keep you updated as and when we hear more.
