Haiden Deegan got to go head-to-head with both Lawrence brothers in the first moto for the lead in Colorado until a mistake left him on the deck and a 7 spot penalty left him with an 11th place gate for moto two.
A bad start meant third place which could have been fourth if Hunter Lawrence hadn’t crashed late but, Deegan is looking at the positives as they head to round four this weekend at High Point.
Deegan said in his latest vlog: “A few negatives today but I think the positives were outweighing it. We were really in the fight in the first moto. Within a week we have really kinda closed that gap. Used a lot of energy battling and made a mistake, felt really good though, even when I got up I felt really strong, so that’s a plus. Definitely narrowed that gap that we usually have in the first moto, so that’s a positive.
“Second moto, not a great start. It’s hard, once those leaders get away and you can’t catch a tow, it’s hard to get a pace to catch them. It’s all good, just take it weekend after weekend and it’s a positive, slowly getting better. Go back to the farm and keep working and showing up each weekend.”
