Swapmoto got to talk to Haiden Deegan about a range of topics… this is what he had to say about riding technique and when he will go 450.

Technique

I think the Lawrences, what they are doing with their technique is super good, they have figured it out for sure. But I don’t think you go too far from the way Tomac or Webb or these guys, where they are just kinda on the limiter, just pushing the bike, I would say. I feel like Tomac this season is going to show you don’t need that perfect flowy technique.

Mixing that Lawrence, Tomac and myself, trying to get an all around rider, that’s been my thing to try and get and not be stuck to one way of riding. If I can figure that out, then I think I can build a machine.

Going 450

Supercross title is on my mind right now, that’s the next step. Then defend the outdoor title, that’s the next one, then see what we do with SMX and then the next year – this year decides what we do next year. It depends what titles we get this year.

I think it’s going to be nice going to the 450, I feel like my first year on the 450 will be like my first year on a 250 was, you don’t have to win but you are going to go out there and have fun. It takes a little bit of that each race pressure off a little bit. That’s what makes me excited about the 450, that experience and learning the new bike, learning the new riders and seeing who you can bear. Who knows exactly when that time will coming.
