The biggest story of High Point wasn’t the races, it was Jett Lawrence and Haiden Deegan getting into it in practice with Jett roosting Haiden when the American got in his way in practice!
Jett said with his tongue firmly in his cheek about the incident: “My tyre was full of mud, so I just wanted to clean it out. Normally it works better with no mud in between the grooves so I just want to clean it out real quick.”

Deegan was then asked what he said to Jett in Q2 that provoked Jett to give Haiden the middle finger as he got up after a fall when Haiden rode by: “I don’t know dude, I just asked if he’s okay and I get flipped off! No… I’m sure if they knew what I said I’d probably get fined.. just playing! It was good, I love the banter, it gets me fired up. I mean you guys can see that I was going for it today, it gives me something to chase and obviously Jett’s the guy.”
Deegan continued: “I don’t know how much longer he can use the ankle excuse like he’s gone 1-1 the last two weekends and I feel like it’s kind of honestly I (don’t) think he can fall back on now, so I think he’s good to go. Honestly, he’s riding good, Hunter’s riding good and I think it’s just a matter of time before I can run with those guys.”
In the races Deegan started behind Jett in both motos and couldn’t quite get on terms with the Aussie but if he starts ahead of Jett at RedBud there could be fireworks!
