In our exclusive interview with David Luongo, we asked the head of InFront Moto Racing if there was still a possibility that MXGP and AMA Pro Motocross with MX Sports could eventually have a combined MXGP and AMA motocross event.
Encouragingly, David was positive about the possibility and insists it’s something he would like to see because it would be the biggest race in the world!
David told us: “It’s a discussion which is still on. And not only with MXSports, it’s also with Feld. I think the last couple of years shows that we have all came together and we are collaborating already for the Motocross of Nations, which is a big thing for US as we saw last year with the success of this event.
“For sure, it is a dream for myself or my father before and for every Motocross fan. A joint event with AMA and MXGP during one race in US or in Europe, who knows? It could be the best, it will be bigger than the Motocross of Nation because you will have the best talent really, really grouping together.
“And it’s still a dream. It’s still a project. So I will never say never, and it’s something we are still working on. Then we will see if it’s happening and when it’s happening, but it’s something we still have in mind on both sides of the Atlantic.”
Let’s hope it happens soon, especially with all the legends in their 30s still racing, it could be the biggest race in the history of the sport.
