The SR Honda team have confirmed they will run two MX2 World Championship riders in the 2022 season. This is welcome news for Honda after the Assomotor Honda team closed their doors.
Stephen Rubini and Emil Weckman who were both riders for the Assomotor Honda team have now moved across to the French based team. It’ll be Rubini’s last year in the MX2 World Championship while it’ll be Weckman’s rookie season making the move up from the EMX250 series.
“A new partner joins the team, and with Ship to Cycle behind us we are pleased to welcome in the team Stephen Rubini and Emil Weckman who will contest the MX2 World Championship alongside Benoit Paturel, who will race in the MXGP class. Both Benoit and Stephen will also enter the French Elite series”, the team stated on social media.
