Young Aussie, Ryan Alexanderson has been with the WZ KTM team for just over a year and was hoping to contest the EMX250 championship once again in 2025 – he had plans to remain with the team.
However, due to visa issues and ‘an overstayed visa’, he isn’t allowed back into Europe at the moment so he can’t race the opening round of the series in Cozar.
It remains to be seen if he’ll race in Europe again if he gets the issue sorted in the future – but his update sounds like a goodbye message to the WZ KTM team which is a real shame.
Alexanderson posted the following update on social media:
As many of you may be aware, I’m currently not in Europe preparing with the WZ Racing team for my final EMX250 season.
Regrettably, due to an issue with an overstayed visa, I am currently unable to return overseas to re-join my team at this stage in the process, for the upcoming season.
I would like to take this time to thank the whole WZ Racing for the opportunity I have been given. I will be forever grateful and appreciative for time I got to spend with such great people.
UPDATE: It has now been confirmed that Alexanderson has signed with Empire Kawasaki to take on the MX2 Aussie championship.
“Excited to announce that Ryan Alexanderson is joining the Penrite Racing Empire Kawasaki team for the 2025 Australian Pro MX season in the MX2 class! Welcome aboard”, the team confirmed.Â
