After showing strong form in the 2025season and leading the way in the 450SMX combined standings, Cooper Webb has unfortunately been sidelined.
The Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing rider sustained a knee injury during the second qualifying session at RedBud and will now undergo a minor procedure to address the issue.
While the injury forces him out of the remaining Pro Motocross rounds, Webb remains optimistic about his recovery and is already looking ahead to the opening SuperMotocross Playoff round in Charlotte.
Yamaha posted the following update on social media:
Rider Update: Cooper Webb will undergo a minor procedure to have his knee cleaned up after injuring it during the second qualifying session at RedBud. The Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing rider holds the top spot of the 450SMX combined points standings and will now focus on returning to full fitness for the opening Supermotocross Playoff round in Charlotte.
Cooper Webb:
“I’m extremely bummed that I’ll be missing the upcoming rounds of Pro Motocross. I had a personal goal to make all 31 rounds this season and I’m disappointed to surrender the SMX championship lead this way. On the positive side, it’s a quick fix and recovery. I’ll get a small procedure done on Monday and should be back on the bike in around a month so that we can prepare for the opening playoff round in Charlotte.”
