It has been confirmed by the Factory Yamaha MXGP team that Dutch talent, Glenn Coldenhoff will make his debut with the team this weekend. Coldenhoff will be in action at the opening round of the International Italian Championship at Riola.Â
With names like Romain Febvre, Jeremy Van Horebeek and Jorge Prado on the entry list to name a few it should be fast at the front of the field.Â
After picking up an injury at Lommel last year it meant Coldenhoff missed the end of the season but he’s been back on the bike for quite a while now adjusting to his new Factory Yamaha.Â
“@Hoff259 will make his debut with Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MXGP at Riola Sardo this weekend! Exciting times…”, the team stated on social media.Â
Coldenhoff recently stated in a Yamaha press release that he’s been happy with his winter prep so far and will be aiming to be ready for the MXGP season when it gets underway towards the end of May.Â
“Winter prep is going pretty good. Just started testing in January and we arrived in Sardinia yesterday for two weeks of training. We have good weather and great facilities over here. I don’t feel ready for the season yet, but I don’t think we have to be already, as we still have a lot of time. The goal is to ride a strong and consistent season with as many podiums as possible. Hopefully this will lead to a great overall result at the end of the year”.
