Colt Nichols spoke to PulpMX about his sudden departure from Beta as he gets ready to make his Suzuki debut in Unadilla.
“I’m super excited to be a part of this (Suzuki) team,” said Colt. “The Beta deal was a two year deal. It was good money, we had a lot of ups and downs. More downs than ups in supercross, it was frustrating.
“A few weeks after we still had a few little things that were going on with the team and the bike and they wanted to go in a little different direction with me next year and that ultimately led me being maybe we need to go a whole new direction in general! Kind of a weird deal, honestly. I wish those guys the best. It really was a mutual thing. There is a lot of stuff that went on behind the scenes that we could go into but we won’t. We kind of walked away saying we wish you the best. No animosity. It just didn’t work.”
