Brent van Doninck injury update

After a big injury last season, Brent van Doninck missed the majority of the season and this year hasn’t gone according to plan either.

It all went wrong for the Belgian around the first couple of corners – he didn’t even complete a lap.

It has now been revealed the van Doninck has broken his femur which will see him out for a lengthy period.

The JM Honda team posted the following update:

Definitely not the start of the season we wanted. Hakon had a perfect start in the qualifying race and finished 7th. Brent had a crash in the first turn and suffers a broken femur. He is at the hospital right now, waiting for surgery. More info will follow later.


The JM Honda team will likely need to sign up a replacement rider in due course. 

The team will be happy with Hakon Osterhagen’s seventh position in the MX2 qualifying race.
