Anstie on why he left Star Racing Yamaha

Lewis Phillips has conducted a great interview with the always very happy to talk, Max Anstie to understand his viewpoint on why the split with Star Yamaha happened and his return to WSX.

Anstie said:I was all in for Pala and outdoors and starting the outdoor season, and I ended up crashing. I’ve obviously missed a bit of time there. As we were figuring out things coming up, World Supercross is something that I really wanted to do. And obviously, I have a race in England and things like that. A little while ago, Star were even talking about running a World Supercross team. It was all kind of rolling ahead like it was possible that it was going to happen.”

But basically, over the last couple of weeks, World Supercross are pushing for me to confirm what I’m doing. And Star basically said, look, I can’t do the World Supercross race in Canada and do World Supercross with them, I’ve got to just focus on outdoors and SMX. But for me, financially, World Supercross makes sense for me. I like racing, obviously, all around the world. And World Supercross, me being the defending World Supercross champion, means a lot and having the FIM World Championship means a lot for me. So we spoke about it all, figured it all out. It was a mutual that for me, for my future, it would be better for me to go and do that.”
