Alberto Forato offers update on his injury

After making the switch to the SR Motoblouz Honda team for the 2025 MXGP World Championship season, Italian rider Alberto Forato was hoping for a strong start. However, his campaign has been hampered by unfortunate injury setbacks. Forato’s troubles began during the opening round of the season in Argentina, where he sustained a knee injury that would ultimately disrupt his plans.

The injury forced Forato to sit out round two in Cozar, as he focused on his recovery. Despite the setback, the determined rider made his return to the series at the French Grand Prix. On Saturday, Forato showed promise, demonstrating competitive pace that hinted at his potential for a strong result. However, things quickly took a turn for the worse on Sunday as he struggled throughout the day, ultimately scoring just one championship point.

In light of these challenges, Forato has now issued an update on his condition. In an update on social media, the rider has confirmed that he will be sitting out the next two rounds of the MXGP season—both of his home Grand Prix events in Riola Sardo and Arco di Trento.

The injury has been more serious than initially anticipated, as Forato revealed that further examination showed a torn ACL and meniscus. This news means that Forato’s road to recovery will be longer than expected, but he remains hopeful that he can return to the track stronger than ever.
