Since entering the MXGP paddock, the SixtySeven Racing team have been running Husqvarna machinery, but that is set to change for the 2027 season as the team have officially announced they will be making the switch to KTM.
The team enjoyed an impressive 2026 campaign, particularly following the signing of Nicolai Skovbjerg, who helped them secure second place in the EMX250 Championship. With that success behind them, SixtySeven Racing are hungry for more next season with a new look and new machinery.
Smulders and Oppliger already signed
The team have already confirmed a contract extension with Scott Smulders, who will continue with SixtySeven Racing for the 2027 season as he remains in the MX2 World Championship. The Dutch talent will now make the switch from Husqvarna to KTM as part of the team’s new direction.
Ryan Oppliger has also been announced as part of the team’s plans for next season. Having raced KTM machinery throughout the past few seasons, the Swiss rider won’t have to make a manufacturer change, although he will be making a step up from EMX125 to the EMX250 Championship.
Both riders will be looking to build on their experience and continue their progression within the highly competitive MXGP paddock.
More riders to be confirmed
SixtySeven Racing are expected to field a further three riders across the EMX250 and EMX125 categories in 2027, meaning there will be more announcements to come.
Following a strong 2026 season and with KTM machinery now part of their programme, SixtySeven Racing will be hoping to continue their upward trajectory and fight for further success in the European Championships.
The remaining riders are expected to be confirmed in due course.
The team confirmed the switch to KTM in the post below:
