Heading into the 2027 season, there will be a new setup in the British and Irish motocross paddock, with MySolar x True Custom Racing preparing for the upcoming campaign with two Irish talents.
Lennox Dickinson and Jack Meara will headline the team’s efforts across the British and Irish championships, while Ollie Devlin will also be part of the setup as he continues his development on an 85cc machine.
Lennox Dickinson will continue with Honda machinery for the 2027 season, remaining on the brand he is comfortable with. Having recently received sponsorship from MySolar, that support will now step up as he joins the MySolar x True Custom Racing setup.
Dickinson will focus on the MX1 British Championship, alongside competing in the Irish series, as he looks to continue making progress on the 450cc.
The Irish talent also made his MXGP World Championship debut at the British Grand Prix at Foxhill this year, and there could be further opportunities on the international stage in 2027.
Joining Dickinson under the team awning will be Jack Meara, who will focus on the MX2 British Championship.
Meara will return to KTM machinery, the brand he feels most comfortable on, as he looks to make further progress in the competitive MX2 class. Alongside his British Championship campaign, he will also contest the Irish and Scottish Championships.
The move will provide Meara with a platform to continue developing, with the team also hoping to give him opportunities to race on the European stage.
Last but by no means least, Ollie Devlin will also be part of the MySolar x True Custom Racing setup for 2027.
Devlin will race an 85cc machine, with the main objective being to gain experience and learn as much as possible as he continues his development.
Possible European and World Championship wildcard events
There could be opportunities for both Dickinson and Meara to step onto the European and World Championship stage during the 2027 season, depending on their domestic results.
Meara is hoping to contest selected EMX250 rounds, which would provide valuable experience against some of the best young talent in Europe. Meanwhile, following his MXGP World Championship debut at Foxhill, Dickinson is hoping to add more MXGP appearances to his schedule next season. With both riders looking to make progress and potentially gain international experience, it is an exciting project for the MySolar x True Custom Racing team.
It is always great to see Irish talent getting opportunities in the paddock, and hopefully the 2027 season will be a successful one for Dickinson, Meara and the entire team.
Lennox Dickinson:
“I’m really keen to get things going for next year running under MySolar, prep has started and I’m looking forward to putting in a graft over winter. Cailum from MySolar and Troy from True Custom House are both obviously the biggest supporters of mine and when I was offered a bigger support deal for next season it’s hard to turn it down, having Jack (Meara) as a partner who is also a good friend of mine will make travelling, training, racing that much easier”
The main goal is the British championship alongside the Irish Championship with selected MXGP Races.”
Jack Meara:
“I’m excited to get going and start getting ready for next season. I am looking forward to a good hard winter and hopefully come out swinging for next year. Obviously none of this would be possible without My Solar. I came to Cailum a few months ago with a plan I had in mind wanting to get myself back on the brand I was comfortable with and straight away he made it happen”.
“To be partnering up with Lennox (Dickinson) is something I am really excited about we have been good friends for years now and grew up racing each other, Being away together, sharing lines and trying to get the best out of each other each time is something I’m really looking forward to”.
“I am beyond grateful to have Cailum and Troy in my corner I am really excited to be working with them. The main focus for me next year is the British championship, alongside the Scottish and Irish championship”.
Cailum Meara (team owner):
“Here we are back in the paddock with Ollie Devlin on an 85cc, Jack Meara in MX2 and Lennox Dickinson in MX1. I’ve always had a soft spot for young Irish talent and especially ones that don’t have the backing I think they deserve. After Jack’s disappointing year on the Yamaha he basically came to me, asked me to help and my exact words were: “I can help but it’s either all in or all out for the both of us”. He’s been in the paddock with Clive and the MotoCycle crew who are just absolutely amazing people and give him great support, but he just didn’t click with the Yamaha so that’s why he’s went down this path”.
“In terms of Lennox, I’ve been helping him already last year and he’s just a dream to work with. He is crazy fast, has an unbelievable work ethic and just an all-round fantastic kid. He is so well mannered, and that is kind of hard to find in young people nowadays never mind the motocross paddock”.
“Of course, not forgetting Ollie, the youngest one. He has some free will I guess, his contract is a bit more laid back than the other two (laughs). He’s been grafting and we’ve been putting him through some rough sessions already”.
“The goals quite simple, I’d like to think both Jack and Lennox can be consistent top 10 in the British championship. Once this happens, they’ll then get a taste of MXGP and EMX. If they’re not scoring those sort of results then I’m not wasting my time or their own time in going to the bigger stage”.
“Myself and Troy still have some very exciting partners to announce as I for sure won’t be alone on this journey. If anyone else is interested in coming on board big or small just let me know. It goes a long way trying to get these young ones to the next level”.
