Young German talent, Luca Nierychlo has confirmed his plans for the 2027 season, signing with Norman KTM for what will be his rookie campaign in the EMX125 Championship.
Norman KTM welcome fresh EMX125 line-up
The Norman KTM team have snapped up the promising German to partner Lucas Leok in what will be a fresh rider line-up for next season. Both Ricardo Bauer and Moritz Ernecker will move up to the EMX250 Championship, leaving two new faces to lead the team’s EMX125 effort.
Injury cuts 85cc campaign short
Unfortunately, Nierychlo didn’t get the final season in the 85cc class that he would have hoped for. The German suffered a broken back during practice at the Junior World Championship, an injury that ruled him out for the remainder of the 2026 season.
Nierychlo would have been expected to battle right at the front of the pack in his final 85cc campaign, making the injury particularly frustrating.
Exciting new chapter in 2027
However, he can now look forward to a fresh challenge and an exciting new chapter in his career as he prepares to make his EMX125 debut with Norman KTM in 2027. Thomas Traversini has a good reputation working with young talents and will hope to improve Nierychlo in what will be a learning year for him.
“I am really proud to get this opportunity from KTM Factory Racing with doing the next step in the KTM structure. The EMX125 series is a big step directly from the 85cc to the 125cc factory team but I want to show my best during my first year racing the 125cc”. Nierychlo told GateDrop.com.
