Glenn Coldenhoff will make a welcome return to the MXGP World Championship when he lines up at his home Grand Prix in Arnhem on August 22-23.
After finishing an impressive third in the MXGP World Championship last season, the experienced Dutchman opted for a new challenge in 2026, making the move to contest the Brazilian Motocross Championship. The switch has been positive, with Coldenhoff currently sitting second in the standings and just eighteen points behind championship leader Enzo Lopes with the title fight still very much alive.
Alongside his Brazilian campaign, Coldenhoff has also continued racing selected events closer to home, including the Dutch Masters series, while competing under his own Yamaha team.
Now, the fan favourite has confirmed he will return to the MXGP paddock for one final home Grand Prix appearance when the world championship visits Arnhem next month. With Dutch fans set to pack the circuit, it promises to be a special occasion for one of the country’s most popular riders.
Coldenhoff confirmed the news via social media:
“We’re back – MXGP! After stepping away from MXGP last year, I’m excited to announce that I’ll be racing the MXGP of Arnhem on August 22-23. One last time lining up for a home GP in front of the home crowd. Some races are just too special to miss”.
It will undoubtedly be one of the feel-good stories of the weekend, with Coldenhoff returning to the gate for what is expected to be an emotional final home MXGP appearance. The Dutch rider will be aiming to reward the home crowd with a memorable performance before turning his attention back to his Brazilian Championship campaign.
