Official: Moritz Ernecker joins KTM Factory Rookies for 2026


Austrian motocross talent Moritz Ernecker has taken a major step forward in his career, confirming a move to the KTM Factory Rookies team for the 2026 EMX125 season.

Ernecker impressed during his rookie campaign in the EMX125 championship in 2025 while racing with the Sarholz KTM team. The young Austrian consistently showed pace, adaptability, and improvement throughout the season, earning attention as one of the most promising riders in his class. His performances highlighted both his speed and potential, setting the stage for a major move in 2026.

For the upcoming season, Ernecker will join the KTM Factory Rookies squad, stepping up to a full factory ride. With a complete winter of preparation behind him, he arrives at the new team ready to challenge for race wins and the championship itself.

The KTM Factory Rookies team will feature an all-Austrian rider lineup, with Ricardo Bauer also joining the squad. Together, Ernecker and Bauer create a strong pairing of young talent aimed at challenging the best of the EMX125 series.

For Ernecker, the move represents both recognition of his performances in 2025 and a platform to take the next step in his career.

“I heard in the middle of the season that I was nominated (to become a factory rider), and at the end of the year I got the official confirmation. It was a big moment for me. I feel really good with the team. Everyone works hard, the atmosphere is great, and I feel comfortable on the bike. I’m looking forward to the winter training”, Ernecker told GateDrop.com. 

“It’s still hard to say what my expectations are. The goal is always to fight for the top positions, but for now I just want to give everything and get the best out of myself. I’m very motivated and thankful for the trust from the team. I can’t wait for what’s coming next”, Ernecker concluded.
