After a strong and consistent season that saw him finish fourth overall in the Italian MX1 Championship, Nicholas Lapucci is preparing for a fresh challenge in 2026. The former EMX250 European Champion has officially signed with the Millionaire Racing Team which will see him make the switch from Kawasaki to Honda machinery.
The Italian rider has shown flashes of brilliance throughout 2025, showcasing his trademark speed and determination. Lapucci will be aiming to make the most of this new opportunity with the Honda-supported structure. The move is seen as an important step forward as he looks to continue developing and battling at the sharp end of competition in both national and international events as we’ll see him more often in the MXGP paddock next year.
For the upcoming season, the main focus will be on the Italian MX1 Championship, where Lapucci has consistently been one of the strongest domestic riders. However, his program will also include contesting the International Italian series, which serves as an ideal warm-up to gauge form ahead of the national and world-level races.
In addition to his domestic commitments, the plan for Lapucci will be to take part in selected rounds of the MXGP World Championship, giving him the chance to once again test himself against the world’s best riders on the biggest stage. He’ll also contest the EMX Open final at Lommel in which he’ll be hoping to battle right a the front of the pack.
Michele Caprioli (team manager):
“We’ve chosen him because he’s one of the strongest Italian riders. He has great potential and with our support, we can aim to do very well. Then we’ll compete in the MXGP World Championship and with the support of Honda Red Moto, we aim to do a great job. He has won three Italian titles, one European title, and one Italian International title throughout his career. I am happy to have reached this agreement for the 2026 season”.
The team revealed the news on social media:
After a long negotiation, we are happy to announce that the talented rider from Barberino di Mugello, Nicholas Lapucci, will race with us for the 2026 season. Throughout his career, he has won three Italian Championships, and in 2021 he claimed victory in the Internazionali d’Italia and became the 250 European Champion.
For the 2026 season, Nicholas will take part in the Italian Championship, the Internazionali d’Italia, at least 7–8 MXGP World Championship rounds, and the European Open Championship final in Belgium. In addition, participation in a few Supercross races is also being considered. Welcome to the Millionaire family.
Thanks to everyone who supports us, to those who allow us to keep moving forward, and to all the people who care about us… See you at the track!
