Race One: Jorge Prado briefly took the holeshot but ran wide to hold of Jett Lawrence and that let Chase Sexton nip up the inside to take the lead – and he was never headed from there! Jett got into second with Tomac third and the race was on with Jett pushing hard and right on Sexton when he lost the rear and slid out dropping to third as Tomac pounced on Jett’s mistake.
The backmarkers proved pivotal as Sexton held the gap between 6-8 seconds over Tomac but, with three laps to go, Jett was right back with Tomac only for the backmarkers to refuse to move and Lawrence lost about three seconds, forcing him to settle for third on the last lap as Sexton took a huge win!
It was another moto of frustration for Jorge Prado who ended up finishing eighth ahead of Valentin Guillod who rode well for ninth.
Sexton said: “I just tried to go back to where I was, I had a lot of time to think on the couch and it really motivated me. I wanted to stay consistent out front and ride at my own pace and it worked out.”

In the staggered restart Jett Lawrence was never headed despite Chase Sexton’s efforts early as Eli Tomac settled into third with Hunter not finding the pace after the restart taking fourth.
Sexton’s second gave him the overall and, despite Jett winning the second moto, that first moto crash meant he lost only his second overall out of 24 rounds on a 450.
Sexton said: “It feels really good, last weekend I was pretty far off. We went to work to fix some stuff with the team and myself. It was a good ride. Love the fans here, hopefully keep this going.”
Jett said: “Washougal ain’t my track and Chase rides really good here. The first moto I was asking way too much with the throttle. I knew Chase and Eli would be a threat here, congrats to Chase. We are still happy with today for a track we are not too good at.”
