We caught up with Kiwi legend Ben Townley who had watched his son Levi battle for the win in the YZ125 bLU cRU Cup and then watched maybe the best MXoN since 2006 at the same venue – a race Townley helped get New Zealand onto the podium!
BT gave his view on a truly memorable day at Matterley Basin. “Today was an extremely special day in the sport. Like, the first, say, 10 minutes of moto one and then the final few laps of moto three – phenomenonal. You know, the people that paid their admission today, it was worth 10 times what they paid. Prado, Gajser, Lawrence, Roczen, and Herlings…speechless – I lost my voice! It was a phenomenal day for the sport.”
