Ruben Fernandez saved his very best lap until the end to top the open free practice session ahead of Maxime Renaux. Conrad Mewse also saved his hot lap until the end to go a very impressive third ahead of Valentin Guillod and Andrea Bonacorsi.
Christian Craig was eighth fastest for team USA behind Coldenhoff and Koch. Dean Ferris was only sixteenth for Australia.
Jason Meara put in the twenty first quickest time for Ireland.
