125cc results: International Italian Championship RD1 – Alghero

Both Cas Valk and Ivano van Erp set a very high pace at the front of the 125cc class as both Dutch talents really enjoyed the rough and bumpy sand track. The pair were going at it in the first moto with Valk threatening to make a move before coming together with a back marker which forced him to settle for second.

In the second moto, Valk was controlling things at the front and had over a six seconds lead but with three laps to go he had a small crash which saw van Erp take the win and go 1-1 on the day but Valk looks like he’s had a good off-season and looks at home on the Fantic.

Van Erp’s team mate, Ferruccio Zanchi ended up going 3-3 on the day to secure third overall edging out young Finnish talent, Kasimir Hindersson.
