Haiden Deegan took teammate Cole Davies out with two laps to go to win the Denver supercross and leave his teammate on the deck after he led the whole race until that decisive moment…and to rub salt into the wound Deegan also got the championship with Davies finishing fifth!
Cole said: “I got caught up on some lappers, that’s on me, I shouldn’t have put myself in that position. I will be back. I could have been better and shouldn’t have put myself in that position.“
Deegan said: “I want to congratulate Cole, he is riding really good. Two laps to go I wanted the win I was going to do anything for it. I saw an opening and took the chance This means a lot (on the title). Coming in people doubted me and thought I was all hype coming into supercross and motocross. They are just mad that I’m him and if you don’t like it you can suck!
