Team USA spoke to Racer X’s Kellan Brauer about big selected for the biggest race of the year and the trio are confident with winning on their mind!
Aaron Plessinger: I’ve been waiting for this moment since 2018 – need some redemption. 2018 wasn’t really good for us. We get redemption now and I will be repping number 1. I am ready to go, I have two great teammates and they are just as pumped up as I am! I’ve never been out of North America before but I will take the leadership, me RJ, and Christian we all working very well together. I think we are going to be ready, we are going to a force to be reckoned with!
RJ Hampshire: It’s awesome to go represent our country, I am excited for it. I was really close to racing a 450, I excited to get to go and make a trip out of it. We have three guys who are going to give it our best shot. I had a full 450 set-up built and ready to go, now I don’t have to worry about that, i know what I have with a 250 and a setting. I’m stoked this team our bosses and manufactueres are supporting the USA, if it wasn’t for that, there would be no team USA. I’ve been watching quite a bit of Ernee, hard pack going to be rutty. Just go there, don’t get too spun out and stick to the plan. I’m most looking forward to the fans, I know how crazy it gets there. I definitely know I can go out there and battle for the win. We will be ready to go.
Christian Craig: It all happened pretty fast. Came out to California to test with the team, Tuesday got sat down and asked if I wanted to do it. Yeah, I know a lot of people have turned down to do this this year, but I was ready to step up. I’m excited, I think I will be more than ready, by the time the race comes I will have had close to eight weeks on the bike, that’s plenty of motos, espeicially with the boys. I’m excited this is a prestigious race, it’s a race I’ve watched every year since I was a little kid and wanted to be a part of it. It’s crazy but I am up for the challenge. I did get picked over the phone last year then obviously it changed a few weeks later. It’s my turn (now) to step up for this team. It’s easy to say this isn’t the best group to send but, that’s just more motovation for us to go over there and do it.
