See how Lucas Coenen looks on a 450 riding Supercross in the USA, with the Coenen’s potentially racing some early season Supercross if they look ready by January!
Roger de Coster told us: ““They definitely want to come over here, they are going to probably do a few races next year when there is no conflicting GP schedule and then they hope they can learn Supercross well enough to come over full-time the following year.
So will the Coenen’s be at Anaheim? “We don’t know yet because they have no experience in supercross, they need to find out where they sit and where their level is.“
At just 18 years old, Lucas has no fear and undoubtedly has generational talent, to be racing the main event at A1 on a 450 against all the talent in that class would be a pretty special accomplishment with zero supercross experience.
If Lucas wins the MXGP title next year he will have to ride a 450 in supercross, just like Prado did, so maybe that is why he is sticking with the bike he knows, if the long-term plan goes right, Lucas is on the 450 for good.
