Jason Anderson did the perfect brake check to keep the lead against a charging Joey Savatgy who ended up on the deck and kicking himself for being “too nice.”
Anderson said: “Joey is going pretty good tonight but at the same time, if he is in front of me or behind me, I am going to hunt him down. I think we are good friends but when it comes to racing, I am by myself.”
Savatgy, who still finished second, said: “It’s racing. Maybe I was too nice, he made a mistake in the rhythm and I had the inside on him but there were so many ruts to take the risk of running him too high and take the both of us down
“I got to his outside in the next corner and if he heard me I don’t know; maybe he missed his line or his goal was to block. I truthfully thought I had enough room and it couldn’t have been very much I clipped him by…I guess being nice didn’t do me any favours!
