After a lot of speculation this week that he may be injured following two subdued performances not up to his usual lethal pace, Tomac back with the red plate on his bike this weekend for St. Louis, has denied he is suffering any physical ailment.
Eli told Lewis Phillips: “Nothing’s wrong. Last week was just kind of a goofy ride straight up. And then Birmingham, I actually wasn’t physically super well. So I was kind of under the weather – didn’t have a great energy. But last weekend I just, I struggled. But like there’s nothing wrong, I don’t have a messed up ankle, leg, I haven’t pulled anything. So I don’t know, out of all that, I somehow have the red plate. Now I need to try to take advantage of it.”
