Jett Lawrence took the holeshot in the first sprint with his Brother, Hunter in second around the first corner. Jett built up a nice lead but Hunter had a lot of pressure from behind. Ferrandis was the first to make his way around the Aussie before Stewart and Webb also made passes. Stewart was the man on the move, he passed Ferrandis and even started to catch Lawrence for the lead before Jett responded for the win. Webb made a nice pass on Ferrandis for third.

It was another Lawrence 1-2 going into turn one of the second sprint but Hunter made a mistake and dropped back to fifth. Jett meanwhile was at the front and looked comfortable but then drama! With a couple of laps to go he caught the tail end of a backmarker and went down – he couldn’t finish due to a damaged back. At the front it was on between Webb and Stewart but it was the Yamaha man who held on for the win!

It was Stewart who took the holeshot in the main event but Lawrence was right there and it didn’t take him too long to make a move on the America. Lawrence then ran into the distance and controlled things at the front. Meanwhile, Webb and Stewart were locked in a battle for second. It wasn’t easy as he needed to pass him a few times but Webb got the job done to finish second. Ferrandis rode a solid race for fourth with Lawrence rounding out the top five – he’ll be looking for more tomorrow. After the first night of action it is Cooper Webb who is leading the overall standings heading into Sunday.
