RUMOUR: Young Motion Powered by Resa Racing to run three MX2 riders in 2026?

The Young Motion Powered by Resa Racing team appears to be shaping up for an exciting 2026 MX2 World Championship campaign. The team enjoy working with young talent to help them develop for the future and have been on the look out for new signings ahead of the 2026 season.

Last year, Filip Olsson raced under the Young Motion awning, but 2025 marked his final MX2 season due to the U23 age limit. Samuel Nilsson faces the same situation and will step up to a 450cc machine for 2026. It meant both riders couldn’t remain with the team for the upcoming season.

Martin Michelis, meanwhile, is set to continue with the team, having reportedly agreed to race selected MX2 rounds in 2026. Michelis will be joined by a new face: promising young Swede Sandro Sools. Sools contested a handful of EMX250 wildcard rounds in 2025, but this move gives him the opportunity to race regularly against the world’s top 250cc riders – a crucial step for his development.

The team is also believed to be bringing in Italian talent Alessandro Gaspari, who will make the jump from EMX250 to the MX2 World Championship. Gaspari has been identified as a rider with strong potential, and this promotion gives him a platform to showcase his skills on the global stage.
