RUMOUR: Van Venrooy KTM negotiate a deal with REFYN Racewear for 2025?

After being outside the MXGP paddock for a year, it has already been confirmed that the Van Venrooy Racing team will return for the 2025 season. It is an exciting time for the team as they have a new challenge for the upcoming season – not only will they return to the paddock but it’s all change for the team.

They will receive factory support from KTM and focus on the MX2 World Championship after agreeing a deal with Cas Valk. After previously focusing on the MXGP World Championship in the past it is a new motivation and challenge for the team.

As they prepare for the upcoming season, we believe the team have been in negotiations with gear brands for the 2025 season. We understand that after having plenty of talks that it is likely they’ll be running REFYN Racewear for the upcoming season.

REFYN Racewear is a brand that is relatively new in the Motocross scene. Owner and CEO, Tom Sidell is thought to be motivated to make a big push in the upcoming years. The brand isn’t completely new to the MXGP paddock as Spanish talent, Samuel Nilsson run the gear in the MX2 World Championship events he contested.

Nilsson may also run the gear again in 2025 if an agreement can be reached but it is likely that the Van Venrooy KTM team will be running the gear with Cas Valk.

It’ll be nice to see a new brand in the MXGP paddock as we saw Jeremy Seewer run the new Renen gear in 2024 as they also start to make a new for themselves in Europe.
