After the Dutch MXGP round earlier in the year we caught up with Fantic team owner, Louis Vosters and asked him if the team was likely to run three MXGP World Championship riders in 2025. Vosters appeared to rule that out as at the time he was content with running two riders.

“For next year we’re going to stick with two riders and it’s stable now, everything is organized and for now it’s better to stay with two”, Vosters told GateDrop.com.

However, we understand the situation has now changed and the team have been allocated a bigger budget that will allow them to run three MXGP World Championship riders in 2025.

Glenn Coldenhoff signed a two year deal so was always going to be under the awning next year whilst Brian Bogers who was drafted in as a fill in rider was rewarded with a contract for the 2025 season.

We understand that Andrea Bonacorsi will also be a factory Fantic MXGP rider for the 2025 season. The Italian has been fast tracked into the MXGP class after winning the EMX250 title last year. Bonacorsi started the 2024 season in the MX2 World Championship. However, after Yamaha were hit with early season injuries to Renaux and Geerts, they looked within their structure and promoted Bonacorsi into MXGP.

There’s no doubt that the Italian who recently started working with Marc de Reuver has plenty of potential in the future.  Despite only starting his MXGP career this year at round five, he finished tenth in the world championship standings. Not bad at all for a 21 year old who could have a very bright future in the sport…

With regards Fantic and their MX2 setup, it’s thought to be under threat and they might decide to focus on EMX250 more in 2025.

More news coming soon.
