A promising future could be on the cards for Dutch motocross talent Dean Gregoire, with strong rumours suggesting he has signed a multi-year contract to continue his journey with KTM.
The young Dutch rider has grown up racing orange, having been a part of the KTM structure from his early days in the sport. He has actually rode a KTM from his 50cc days – so has spent a very long time in orange. In 2024, Gregoire has taken a significant step forward in his development, delivering his strongest season yet in the highly competitive EMX125 European Championship. He has shown good pace in qualifying as well as some good race results throughout the course of the season.
There’s plenty of talent in the EMX125 championship and regularly produces future Grand Prix stars. Gregoire has consistently shown speed, maturity and progression throughout the season, catching the attention of key figures within the KTM camp. From what we understand, those performances have been enough to convince KTM to commit to Gregoire’s future, locking him in with a long-term deal.
While nothing has yet been confirmed officially by KTM, the reported contract renewal is a major boost for Gregoire as he looks to continue climbing the ranks of the sport. It follows KTM’s announcement earlier this season that they had signed another rising star, Aron Katona, to a long-term deal — further underlining the brand’s investment in its youth pipeline.
Gregoire’s 2024 campaign has been run under the Motovation Motorsport KTM awning. After initially joining the squad last year in a fill-in role, he impressed enough to be offered a full-time ride for the current season. That opportunity has allowed him to build consistency and momentum, with the results now starting to reflect the potential many saw early in his career.
Looking ahead, it’s already clear that Gregoire will take the next step in 2026 with a move up to the EMX250 Championship. It will be a big challenge — the step from the 125cc to 250cc class is tough — but staying within the KTM structure should provide the support he needs to make a successful transition. We also believe he has also started riding a 250cc machine as he starts to prepare for his future.
What remains uncertain is which team Gregoire will race for in EMX250 class. KTM has several strong satellite and supported teams at that level, and it will be interesting to see where they choose to place him for his rookie season. Whether he remains with Motovation Motorsport or moves into another structure remains to be seen.
One thing is certain: KTM clearly believes in Dean Gregoire’s potential, and with this rumoured long-term commitment, the young Dutch rider has a golden opportunity to continue his rise in the sport.
As always, we’ll bring you the official confirmation once KTM makes a public announcement.
