The 2025 Ulster Motocross Championship has already delivered its fair share of action, with local stars providing plenty of entertainment during the early rounds. While the series has seen a lull in recent months, anticipation is building once again as the championship prepares to return with what could be one of its biggest events in years.

On Saturday the 16th August, the Ulster series heads to the Mountain Quarter circuit, a hard-pack track that always delivers close racing. But this time, there’s more than just championship points at stake – there’s a growing buzz that riders from the British Motocross Championship will make the trip across the Irish Sea to compete.

Although the full entry list is yet to be confirmed, whispers in the paddock suggest that fans can expect some familiar names from the British Championship to line up alongside Ulster’s best. If the rumours prove true, it would mark a significant boost for the series, giving local riders the opportunity to test themselves against some of the UK’s top-level talent – and giving fans a chance to see the local talent go head to head with British riders on home soil. There will also be a Tommy Stewart memorial trophy up for grabs at the end of the day in a feature race.

Of course, the Ulster regulars won’t be taking a back seat. The experienced Martin Barr will lead the local charge. He’ll be joined by Glenn McCormick and Stuart Edmonds, both of whom are no strangers to battling at the sharp end of the field. Jason Meara, fresh off his recent return to the bike is also expected to be on the gate if everything goes to plan, adding even more firepower to the homegrown talent.
