Coming into the 2024 season, the Beddini Racing team secured factory support from GasGas to run the official EMX250 set up. Whilst they just missed out on securing the title, it was still a very strong season for Valerio Lata as he finished second in the series and also picked up the MX2 Italian Championship. If he wins this weekend it’ll be an unbeaten season for him on domestic soil.
The team also signed up young Danish talent, Mads Fredsøe to partner him and he’s showed flashes of what he could do as a rookie but will look to be stronger in 2025.
We understand that the future of the Beddini GasGas Factory Juniors team could be in doubt. Yet another team fighting to stay in the paddock which isn’t good news for the sport. As we understand, the team are motivated and would like to remain in the GP paddock but without support from a manufacturer it makes things complicated.
Even though the Pierer Mobility Group decided to focus more on KTM in MXGP and that is why De Carli Racing have made the switch to form two factory KTM teams in 2025, it’s thought that initially the plan was for GasGas to continue running an EMX250 team with Beddini. We believe this is now in danger and may not happen.
The team are seriously considering stopping for a season and then reassessing – we believe if they do stop for 2025 they would be interested in returning to the paddock in 2026.
In terms of Lata, the young Italian will move up to the MX2 World Championship in 2025 and will most likely be under a factory awning. Fredsøe is also likely to secure another ride to contest the EMX250 championship for the upcoming season in what will be his second season in the class.
Fingers crossed the Beddini Racing team can find a solution that will see them remain in the paddock for 2025 but things are very uncertain at the moment.
If Beddini and GasGas don’t continue together it would leave the Gabriel SS24 KTM as the sole factory Austrian supported team in the EMX250 series who have already announced Gyan Doensen and Max Werner for the 2025 season.
