Romain Febvre – performing under pressure!

After his unforced error in moto one at Loket that took the points gap back to seven points, Romain Febvre has been in his best form of the season.

Febvre has went 1-2-1-2-1-1-1 since then, almost like that mistake focused his mind and the experience he has built up in winning and losing title world championship battles over the years. When the pressure moment came and his championship lead rapidly dwindling Febvre has delivered, his starts improved and that moto win in Lommel really showed just how badly Febvre wants this championship, he showed the rapidly rising superstar, Lucas Coenen, that he wasn’t backing down, not even at his rival’s home GP.

Febvre made his point in Belgium and then made a lot of points in Sweden with the perfect weekend and, crucially, brilliant starts as Lucas Coenen didn’t get a start all weekend, That all conspired to give the Frenchman a 41 point lead with four rounds to go. Febvre has the breathing space again in the title race, but he knows Lucas Coenen will be breathing down his neck again in Arnhem with nothing to lose and everything to gain.

The kid won’t give up without a fight but Febvre hit back impressively over the last two rounds, this is his best chance of the world title since 2015. After many injuries and close title loses, Febvre never gave up and always believed. He’s on the verge of his second world title a decade after his first, and he just upped his game when he really felt the heat, that’s impressive.
