The Dutch MX Season Opener in Lierop promises to be a spectacular start to the motocross season.
On Sunday, March 1, several world champions will appear at the start, making the event an absolute must-see for motocross enthusiasts.
Five-time world champion Jeffrey Herlings will start on the iconic sand circuit of Lierop. He will get stiff competition from Romain Febvre, the reigning world champion in the MXGP class. Glenn Coldenhoff, in recent years a regular asset in the world top of the MXGP, also comes to Lierop.
Kay de Wolf has an undefeated status in Lierop because he has so far managed to win all three Dutch MX Season Openers in the MX2. The Dutchman crowned himself the MX2 world champion in 2024 but will move to the MXGP class in 2026. Because of this he will compete in Lierop against Herlings, Febvre and Coldenhoff.
With this impressive list of riders, the Dutch MX Season Opener highlights its status as one of the most important preparation races of the year.
