Jason Anderson took the early lead and battled with Aaron Plessinger at the front as Ken Roczen started fifth passing Webb then Anderson and then Plessinger for the lead with some brilliant, flowing lines.
Webb picked up on Roczen’s lines and got himself into second but Sexton, who started around tenth after his LCQ win, was on the charge and caught up to the back wheel of Webb. That woke Webb up and he caught Roczen with a couple of minutes to go and it looked like deja vu for Roczen, but Webb lost his balance in rut and Roczen kept his composure and that was the gap Roczen needed to bring it home to win his first ever Daytona supercross and keep his title hopes alive. He finally beat Webb late in the moto in a head to head battle!
Roczen said: “I still can’t believe it. I put my head down and had some really good lines. I was just charging the whole time trying to get a gap. I cannot believe this finally happened. Justin Brayton has been giving me crap for a long time because he has one of these (Daytona win) and I don’t. This is dream come true. We are going to enjoy tonight.”
Webb settled for second as Sexton lost time to Webb and eventually faded back to fifth in another rough night for the KTM rider – but fifth under the circumstances of a crash that could have ended his season is still some decent damage limitation.

In the 250 main event Tom Vialle and Max Anstie came together in turn two with Anstie coming off worse and going down as Vialle took control of the lead. Hampshire found his groove quickly and passed Hymas to get into second and pressure Vialle as Kitchen set after Hymas.

Hampshire wasted no time in passing Vialle for the lead as Kitchen got himself into third only to have a huge endo and go down hard forcing a red flag at the halfway mark.

Hampshire held strong in the restart to take the win despite Vialle keeping him honest about two seconds back as Hammaker passed Hymas late for third. Max Anstie rode smart to get back to sixth just behind Max Vohland to hold onto the red plate, six points ahead of Tom Vialle with Hymas 13 back and Hampshire 14 behind Anstie.
An emotional Hampshire said: “I lost my dad a few months ago, this was the only supercross he came too. That was for my dad for sure.”
