Chase Sexton needed a win and he got it at A2 after he worked his way around early race leader, Jason Anderson, with Anderson holding off Hunter Lawrence and Eli Tomac just long enough for Sexton to get a small gap.

Hunter was closing late but backmarkers not moving over on the blue flags cost him the chance at the win as Sexton took a huge win for himself and Kawasaki with championship leader, Tomac settling for third. Cooper Webb crashed while fourth to end up fifth.

Jorge Prado started outside the top ten and got to seventh with Roczen going from a bad start, then a crash back to eighth.

Sexton said: “It has been a long 3 months. It’s been a bit of journey even after the heat race I was like what am I doing wrong. I just rode solid, didn’t do anything dumb. It’s good to have Kawi back on top and winning and I plan to keep it that way.”

Haiden Deegan took the win but took his time to run down teammate Michael Mosiman for the win with Mosiman a great second and DiFrancesco third. Max Anstie had a bad start, got up to sixth then went off track; dropped to tenth and came back to sixth.

But it wss even worse for Hymas and Kitchen who both went down in the first corner in separate incidents and rode straight down the tunnel with Hymas holding his arm.
