It was an intense MXGP qualifying race as Gajser, Prado and Herlings were all at the front. Prado led on the first lap but made a mistake and Gajser used that to his advantage to get into the lead.
Prado then put pressure on Gajser but the Slovenian rode well to bring home a win and gain a championship point on his closest championship rival.
Herlings came home a distant third – will he have more in the tank on race day tomorrow?
Mattia Guadagnini was running well in fourth before coming home in seventh with Jeremy Seewer fourth.
Romain Febvre was sixth on his MXGP return.
