Sacha Coenen took the holeshot and dominated the qualifying race in China.

Simon Längenfelder started in second and that is where he finished to gain championship points.

Kay de Wolf was outside the top ten after a bad start but made a lot of quick passes before he got behind Guillem Farres. He was finally able to pass the Triumph rider and then got Karlis Reisulis too.

The Dutch rider then caught a six second gap to Valerio Lata but ran out of time so ended up fourth – losing two championship points to Längenfelder.
