The opening laps were pretty frantic and fantastic racing between the top five. Simon Laengenfelder took the holeshot but it was Andrea Adamo on the move.

Adamo put an aggressive pass in on Kay de Wolf for second and then didn’t waste much time to pass Laengenfelder to take the lead and start to pull a small gap.

De Wolf clearly didn’t want him to get away and quickly got into second and started to close. It was looking like we might get a last few laps show down between the world champions but de Wolf had a crash which dropped him down to third.

Sacha Coenen had a smart ride to come home in an impressive second – it was a KTM 1-2.

Mathis Valin was very fast in the opening stages before coming home in fifth.

Yamaha duo, Thibault Benistant and Karlis Reisulis finished sixth and seventh respectively.

A shout out to Liam Everts who finished a superb eighth with limited bike time.
